Kilner seals, discs and screw bands are made for specific jar types and sizes, and they don't swap between styles. Use this guide to find the right part, based on the fit information Kilner publishes. Browse more in our Kilner collection.
Clip Top Jars: rubber seals
Kilner says its replacement rubber seals are made from high-grade, food-safe rubber.
| Seal | Fits (per Kilner) |
|---|---|
| Standard Rubber Seals (pack of 6) | Round and Square Clip Top Jars in 350ml, 500ml, 1 litre, 1.5 litre and 2 litre |

| Large Rubber Seals (pack of 6) | Round Clip Top Jar, 3 litre |
Preserve Jars: sealing discs and screw bands
Kilner Preserve Jars use a two-piece lid: a tin sealing disc and a screw band. The two work together to create a vacuum seal.

Kilner says the discs should be hand washed and dried straight away.

1 litre Wide Mouth jar owners: Kilner makes separate seals for this size. Contact us if you need them.
Drinks dispensers: replacement taps
Kilner says both the Replacement Drinks Dispenser Tap and the Stainless Steel Drinks Dispenser Tap fit its 3, 5 and 8 litre drinks dispensers. Each tap has two silicone washers that fit either side of the glass and are secured with an inner bolt to prevent leaks, and it removes easily for washing.
Quick tips
- Check the jar type first. Preserve, Wide Mouth and Clip Top parts aren't interchangeable.
- Sterilise new seals before preserving. Kilner's method is to simmer seals and lids at 82°C for 10 minutes. See our sterilising guide.
- Not sure which jar you have? Compare them in our Preserve vs Clip Top vs Wide Mouth guide.
