OmieLife was founded by Nancy Yen, a mum whose son struggled with cold, unappetising lunches when he started preschool. After one too many uneaten meals, Nancy set out to reinvent the school lunch box, and OmieBox was born. Handwashing is recommended for OmieBox. The high heat and harsh detergents in a dishwasher can damage the box over time, so gentle hand washing in warm soapy water is the best way to keep it in top condition.

Most OmieBox UP parts are dishwasher safe, but the thermos, thermos lid, ice pack and securing insert should always be hand washed rather than placed in the dishwasher.

No. Neither OmieBox nor OmieBox UP, nor any of their parts, should go in the microwave.

Yes. OmieBox has leak-proof compartments that can each hold up to a teaspoon of liquid, with wetter foods like soup, yoghurt or dressing best kept in the thermos. Dividers used within compartments are for separating foods rather than sealing liquids.

Both OmieBox and OmieBox UP have silicone seals that should be removed and washed in warm soapy water daily, then left to dry completely. Silicone left damp is prone to mould, so this quick daily habit keeps the seals in good condition.
