Alfresco Lane Grazing Board FAQ

Alfresco Lane wooden grazing and cutting boards are popular for entertaining and everyday prep in Australian homes. Wooden boards need simple but regular care to stay in good condition and last for years. Browse the full Alfresco Lane range.

How should I clean an Alfresco Lane board?

Hand wash both sides with warm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. Do not soak the board or put it in the dishwasher, as prolonged water exposure can cause warping or cracking. Dry immediately with a towel, then stand the board upright to air dry fully.

How do I oil the board?

When the wood starts to look dry or faded, apply a food safe board oil, such as a plant based chopping board oil. Wipe it on with a soft cloth, allow it to soak in, then wipe off any excess. For a deeper treatment, apply oil liberally and leave overnight before wiping clean. Avoid ordinary vegetable oils like olive, canola or sunflower, as they can go rancid.

What should I avoid?

  • Dishwasher use
  • Soaking in water
  • Direct heat or using the board as a trivet
  • Leaving the board wet

Regular hand washing, thorough drying and occasional oiling will keep your Alfresco Lane grazing board looking good and performing well for years of Australian entertaining and meal prep.
